As an experienced litigation paralegal, James Leeson is the backbone for Bayuk Pratt’s trial lawyers. He guides injured clients from their initial consultation through trial prep, providing compassion, care, and dedication every step of the way. James handles all the necessary details throughout each phase of trial to better prepare the team for litigation.

In his role, James manages cases before, during, and after the litigation process. It often involves assisting in depositions, researching, and preparing witnesses. He also gathers and prepares evidence such as documents, interviews clients, and drafts pleadings under the supervision of Bayuk Pratt’s attorneys. At jury and bench trials, James is responsible for setting up and handling exhibits for clients’ lawsuits.

James hails from LaGrange, Georgia. He began his career at a large insurance defense law firm, where, after some time, he became disillusioned. As James explains, he was tired of watching the fruits of his labor ultimately be used to help multimillion-dollar insurance companies save money — at the expense of people who were injured through no fault of their own.

With his move into plaintiff’s litigation, James takes pride in helping ordinary people take on giant corporate interests to get the full and fair compensation they deserve. All he needs to see is Bayuk Pratt’s clients smiling following a successful verdict or settlement, and he knows he has done his job well.

When the law office is closed for the day, James enjoys spending time with his partner, Stephen. Among his interests are playing video games, working outdoors, riding bicycles, and the occasional round of karaoke.
