A deadly crash took place Halloween night which claimed the lives of three people, one being a 1-month-old infant.

DeKalb Fire and Rescue received a call around 11:53 p.m. about a crash on Interstate 20 eastbound just before Wesley Chapel Road.

The crash involved a tractor-trailer and a truck with people trapped inside the vehicle.

DeKalb County police confirmed that the accident happened when a pickup truck slammed into the back of an 18-wheeler, killing the driver and two passengers.

The victims killed were identified as 41- year-old Taraja Ramsess and his two daughters 13-year-old Sundari Ramsess and 1-month-old Fujibo Ramses.

“It’s disturbing how often commercial truck crashes affect innocent lives,” says trucking Lawyer, Bradley Pratt. “The great loss that this family suffered could have been prevented by better training, and simply following the federal regulations and rules of the road. The regulations strictly require flares or cones along with hazard lights when trucks are stopped in the roadway in the dark to warn other drivers of the dangerous hazard. When they fail to follow these regs, the results can be deadly.”

Four other people were seriously injured in the accident. Two passengers, a 10-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl were taken to Grady Memorial, and the other two were taken to Emory Hillandale.
