Why is Frank Bayuk one of Atlanta’s most highly sought-after attorneys for plaintiff’s-side personal injury lawsuits and civil law litigation? Because he has insider knowledge of how big businesses think — and how to win lawsuits against them.

Frank is one of Bayuk Pratt’s two founders and lead attorneys. His experience as a first-chair trial lawyer at some of the largest defense firms gives his clients — people injured or who have lost family members due to catastrophic accidents and faulty products — the edge they need to get the compensation and justice they deserve.

A native of Ormond Beach, Florida, Frank has a simple reason for breaking free from big-law partnership. He came to believe that individuals and families should have the same elite level of legal representation usually reserved for the world’s most powerful companies. In the time since he and Bradley Pratt formed Bayuk Pratt in 2022, Frank has helped accident victims recover more than $300 million in compensation.

Throughout his two decades in practice, Frank has tried dozens of cases to verdict — involving billions of dollars in damages — in courtrooms across Georgia and the U.S. Many of these extremely complex, high-stakes trials have been in some of the toughest jurisdictions.

Before establishing Bayuk Pratt, Frank was a partner at two of the largest defense firms in the world, Jones Day and King & Spalding. There, he led numerous trial teams and supervised hundreds of lawyers in the workup and trial strategy development for severe injury and death cases. The wealthiest Fortune 100 corporate clients regularly sought him out to chair their cases, citing his effective legal skills and techniques in the courtroom.

Frank racked up high praise, such as having “a stellar track record of defending some of America’s most established and well-known companies against potentially devastating legal actions, and he has accomplished this in what have often been hostile environments.” Further, “his work on behalf of companies facing aggressive, high-stakes liability actions is outstanding.”

But Frank began having the gnawing feeling that there was a much better use for his litigation skills. With Bayuk Pratt, he puts his know-how of winning complex injury, class-action, mass torts, and other critical cases to work for those who truly need it. These are citizens who can’t fight for themselves but want justice from the big corporations and their insurance carriers for the harm they caused.

Many of the country’s leading legal publications and rankings services routinely commend Frank’s “notable trial capabilities.” For example, Chambers praises him as “an excellent trial lawyer — very innovative, and with a very broad knowledge base,” as well as being “a relentless and ethical lawyer.” Georgia Super Lawyers has repeatedly featured Frank on its annual peer-select list, and he is a “Rising Star” in Law360 trials and products liability categories. Benchmark Litigation has him on its “Under 40 Hot List,” while Legal500 lauds him for his “strong reputation.”

Frank believes the next generation of lawyers need legal mentors to help them reach their career goals. He regularly works with younger and aspiring attorneys to give them the experience they need. Frank also is a faculty member for Emory University School of Law’s Trial Techniques program, where he helps law students learn preparation and techniques for the courtoom.

When he is away from his law practice, Frank relishes the time he spends with his daughter and son. He helps them with their schoolwork when needed (don’t worry — he doesn’t charge them hourly fees!) and coaches their sports teams. Frank is a proud Atlanta Braves fan and loves to travel and ski. He attends Buckhead Church in Atlanta.
